New IMIDRO Head Appointed
Khodadad Gharibpour has been appointed the new deputy industry minister and
head of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation
Organization (IMIDRO).
Industry,
Mining and Trade Minister Reza Rahmani appointed Gharibpour to the post
replacing Dr. Mehdi Karbasian.
Gharibpour is the previous head of the National Development Investment Group
and the ex-head of Shazand Petrochemical Company.
IMIDRO is a major state-owned holding company active in the mining sector in
Iran. It has eight major companies and 55 operational subsidiaries active in
steel, aluminum, copper, cement and mineral exploitation fields.
The new IMIDRO
chief is among honest and hardworking managers of Kohkiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad
Province who has reached this position as a result of management
capabilities. He was appointed governor of Boyerahmad city when he was only
26 years old. Among his other records mention can be made is his activities
in Agro-Industry Company and Shazand Cement and Petrochemical Holding.
Dr. Karbasian
quit his post as the head of IMIDRO after a new legislation on retired
employees was ratified by the parliament.
The important new retirement law, approved by the Guardian Council and
enacted by the Iranian parliament, could effectively put an end to the
decades-long practice of re-employment of some government workers upon their
retirement. |
